I have three digital Home Phones (BT and EE) which work fine apart from this irritating problem. When 'dialling' out the key pad tones are audible. However, when phoning a company such as a bank where you are presnted with a menu system and you are asked to press certain digits to select the items on the menu, I do not get the tones sounding on my handset. The tones are however transmitted to the distant end and they are shown on the display. I find this is anoying because my analog phones do repeat the tones when on a call as I think they should. I have taken this up with EE CS and all they have done is send another phone which behaves exactly the same way. So I believe this is a product fault and I feel a strong letter coming on! Any ideas?

Many thanks for your interest in my problem. I have gone through the set up procedure a few times and tried many different sequences but nothing changes. The user guide is pretty basic and refers you to a 'Full User Guide' at ee.co.uk/help , but the guide does not seem to exist. I probably will raise a complaint but I was just interested to see if anyone else had noticed this problem. This issue would be more apparent to someone with a visual impairement.

Thankyou.

I was referring to the EE website which did not seem to have a 'full' user guide. Your link takes us to the BT website user guide which has more information and does refer to the handset tones. However as I have mentioned they do not work the way they should (in my opinion) no matter which way you choose to enter the setting.

Thanks again.
