EE Mobile Data being Throttled?

I have 2 sim only lines, 1st is in my Mobile phone and the 2nd is in a SIM Router as I don't have Broadband at my property. Both lines are Essentials SIM Unlimited. I have been using this set up for the last 19 months and its been working great, regularly get 30-60mbs Download speeds which is fine for what I need with Internet, Home working and TV.

Over the last 3 days the speeds have dropped to <1mbs download on SIM Router account and <10mbs on Phone account, does this seem like a Throttle by EE of Local Mast issues?

I've checked my data usage on both accounts but doesn't really make sense, have posted below.

Hopefully someone could help? Thanks in advance

@Trigs1 those stats just show how much data you’ve used it doesn’t show that it’s been throttled.

@Chris_B Thanks for the quick response, i thought thats what it was showing. Account 1 looks fine as definitly not hitting the 600gb limit, it was more the Account 2 where there is 2 records for each month i.e. '600 GB used of 600 GB' but then says '252.22 GB Used'. Does that mean I'm under the 600 GB limit or i've exceeded?

Welcome to the Community!

Do you know if you have any free boosts on your line, which was shown seperately, as it seems you have 600GB as your normal useage and then another allowance stacked for when this has been used.

The only add on I have for both accounts is 'WiFi Coverage Boost'

It looks likely that due to your high usage our fair use policy has been activated @Trigs1 which will deprioritise your mobile traffic after you reach 600GB.

That would make sense, limited reached of 600gb and the additional line is the amount i've exceeded i.e. 222.82 gb in May 26.

Do I need to keep under the 600 gb for August and the throttle will be removed?

That's exactly right @Trigs1.

The first 600GB should be regular speeds, as this isn't throttled, but, for example, the 143.59GB from last month would've potentially been slower.

@Rach_H : Free Boosts are only on PAYG. These are contract SIMs.

Its been confirmed that I have hit the FUP and have restricted speeds which is fine as only my fault for using too much!

Its also been confirmed that there is a Network issue in my area, hence the <1mbs download speeds. I've had numerous updates over last couple of days and the final update is EE haven't been able to fix the issue and the next update won't be until 05/09/2026 ☹️

I've been testing the connection over last couple of days and have noticed a pattern where connection is good and then drops out and I want to pass some information onto the EE Network Engineers which they may find it helpful, or not...

I'm just struggling to find how to pass this information on other than phone call, is there a way of emailing this information that will get to the engineering team?

There is no way other than by phoning CS & trying to get them to pass the info or you on. EE provide no contact by email
