How long does it take for safe search changes to update?

So I recently realised that for some reason my safe search was set to moderate, when previously it was off. I've already changed it back to off, but Google still says that Safe Search is active so I cannot look up certain search terms (which makes it hard for me as my research terms do include the word "sex", which I think is what's flagging it?)

How long will it take for the changes to become active in my browsing? I have work to do, and don't want to have to deal with workarounds.

This is a mobile only account, under contract, single adult user.

@gengarde : Safe Search v. Content Lock! What are you mixing up? They are 2 diff things.

Content Lock is from EE. It's what you are talking about when you speak of switching between "Moderate" & "Off".

Safe Search is a Google feature that restricts what you can look up. Any control of it will be amongst Google's setting. It has nowt to do with EE.
