Hi,

I have a work phone that I am pretty sure has unlimited data. I have been helping my girlfriend move house and have been there all week without wifi. I have been using my hotspot for work and downloading large files along with personal use for Netflix ect, so I have used up 59gb of data.

Yesterday the 5G wouldn't work at all, can't connect to any apps, iMessage not working ect. The thing is, I haven't had any messages saying I have used up 80% of my data or 100%.

Should I have had these messages if I had, in fact, hit the data limit? I have tried turning my phone on and off multiple times, switching airplane mode, and all the other tips that popped up on Google.

I thought I would ask on here as I don't really want to get into trouble for running out of data when using it for personal use as well as work use.

Thanks in advance

59GB is nowhere near any FUP, so I doubt that would be the issue.

Are your symptoms specific to one geographical location, or are they more generalised? It would be interesting to know what other tips popped up on Google, that you might have tried.

It seems to be everywhere, although the 3 places I have been are within 15 miles of each other. I tried my SIM in my brother's phone, who I also work with, and it had the same issues.

These are the tips from Google that I tried

If your phone won't use mobile data, the most common solutions are to restart your phone, ensure Airplane Mode is off, toggle Mobile Data on and off, and verify you have a good network signal. You should also check your SIM card, confirm you haven't exceeded your data allowance, and consider resetting your network settings in the phone's settings menu. If these steps don't work, contact your mobile carrier for further assistance.Basic Checks

1. Restart your phone:

A simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches that may be causing the issue.

2. Check Airplane Mode:

Make sure Airplane Mode is turned off, as it disables all wireless connections, including mobile data.

3. Toggle Mobile Data:

Navigate to your phone's settings and turn the Mobile Data (or Cellular Data) switch off and then on again.

4. Disable Wi-Fi:

If you're connected to a weak Wi-Fi signal, your phone might not switch to cellular data. Turn off Wi-Fi to see if mobile data works.

5. Check Network Coverage:

Ensure you're in an area with a strong mobile signal. Weak signals, especially indoors or in certain locations, can prevent data from working.

Settings & Configuration

1. Check Your Data Plan:

Confirm that you have enough data on your plan and haven't reached your monthly data allowance.

2. Reinsert SIM Card:

Power off your phone, remove your SIM card, and then carefully reinsert it.

3. Reset Network Settings:

This will clear any corrupted network settings and restore them to default, which can resolve connectivity issues. (Note: this will also erase saved Wi-Fi passwords).

4. Update Phone Software:

Outdated software can cause compatibility issues. Check for and install any available system updates.

5. Check APN Settings:

In your network settings, ensure the Access Point Names (APN) are correct for your carrier.

Thanks
