Well, just kind of strange this happens evenings and weekends. Like a switch is thrown during those times to stop anything other than calls and basic web browsing. | wonder if NSA is any different? Can't quite get that here, Seen the blistering speeds out and about but never tested it to any long degree,

When I connect to EE 4G+ Data I hit ~80Mb/s downstream but then within maybe 30 seconds or so it drops to ~30Mb/s and evenings/weekends it drops even further into single digits making it virtually useless.
My signal strength in both devices varies between -83db to -79db so pretty decent.
I have an EE contract 'our best speeds' SIM.
There are no reported problems in my area.
I'm trying to use this in my Galaxy S23 Ultra and my TP-Link MR500 and see very similar results from both. Is this throttling or could there be something else wrong?

Hi @wmj

EE don't provide any guaranteed speed on their mobile network as it is down to the local mast, traffic etc and therefore can be variable.

Thanks

Should there not be at least a min speed level aim or some kind of SLA though? I wouldn't have thought EE were that hard-up for capacity that their 4G+ service disintrigates to single fugures and becomes unusable if you try to e.g., stream a 4k movie one evening on Netflix?

You won't get SLAs on consumer products.
