Heading abroad (outside EU) currently gift data around 4 family members. If I gift data abroad can they use it while we are roaming?

Where are they? You may gift to them if they are in EU or somewhere they can use their UK allowances.

IF you are there when your allowance refresh on your billing date you will no longer be able to gift data until you are back in UK.

sorry I wasn’t clear. We are all together in NZ. Each month I gift them data, which I will do before we go abroad. Do we all have to buy roaming pack for £11 to use the data or is it just me as I’m gifting the data? Also if they have to buy the £11 roaming back will they be able to use the gifted data or just their own plan data?

Yes, you will each need to buy the £11.40 Roam Abroad Pass to both gift & use gifted data and to use your UK allowances.
