I have just sadly had to change, or should I say downgrade, my EE hub to Smart 4G. My previous Model B625-261 was better in so many ways, but sadly after 6 years it stopped working. This unit is less functional. However, whilst I am stuck with it, I have to get it linking up with these extenders. I have been using a TP-Link extender (RE450) AC1750, which has worked fine, but now it cannot link to the new router.
The hub doesn't have a WPS to press, so it won't allow me to connect that way. I have inputted the password for the router, but it will not connect! The WPS on the extender is pressed as stated by TP-LINK, but the router cannot respond. Tried several ways, but I am tearing my hair out researching how to overcome this problem. TP-Link says to open up these web pages, but as the hub won't allow the unit to connect, these web pages are useless. https://tplinkrepeater.net or 192.168.0.254. Nothing on http://192.168.1.1/#/homePage shows me that the unit is trying to link with the hub.
I have a Netgear extender, and I am having the same issue in that it's not able to connect. The 2.4 Hz light won't light up. As in the Netgear, too? Both show up on the Windows AVAILABLE network, and as I said, I have inputted the password for each. I am getting a 25-30 MB download on the new HUB. Windows sees the extender as you can see from the screenshot.

Any ideas, please?

Sadly it doesn't fix my issues with my Smart-4G-Hub-7X5P. I have tried everything to connect two different types of extenders, Netgear and TP -Link. FRUSTRATING as I can't access the internet properly from my computer due to a weak signal.

Mobile hub, poor mobile signal or congestion then that's what happens. The .net version also requires othe programs to be installed, see you are querying the Tp-Link forum as well, just use the tether app and set the ssid/password to match the same both devices.

Smart 4G Hub Device Guide | Broadband Help

Or download the manual link was sent in one off the post's and go set the DHCP to match your Tp range.

That ethernet connection would be lying across floors and walls, all the way down to where the computers are so it won't be able to achieve that, sadly. Both units I have do have DHCP. However, as they won't link to the hub, I can't change anything. I re-instated the old unit as a test of connection (Model B625-261 ). Yes, it has issues, and I can't access the web page, etc., but all links were established easily. Just need that 2.GHZ to light up and I can access all other factors.

Done all that, Jim, because the hub won't connect to the 2.4 GHz; there is zero access. I have inputted the passwords as stated in your other reply, and thank you for that. This hub has no WPS to send out at the same time as the extender. So no link. This was supposed to be a temp fix whilst we are moving instead of buying an expensive unit I would just chuck away in a few months. I bought (as suggested by the EE tech guy) a refurbished unit. I checked attached devices and anything that would help to achieve links. And both NetGear and the TP-Link are not functioning and not linking (NETGEAR EX6410). I am wondering if this is such a basic unit it just functions on Bluetooth and ethernet? I do have a Yealink attached for VoIP via LAN1, which is working fine.

192.168.0.1 was the correct address. But it had software issues that made the internet speeds 2-3 MB/s. It was over 6 years old, and it was brilliant until lately. Talked to the EE tech guy, and he suggested the units' software and internals had been breaking down. I am achieving 20-30 Mbps with this one now. I had better speeds from the old one, but I know that they have had issues with the local tower lately. I have changed the position of the hub to see if that makes a difference, but when taking it to the back of the house, I can't get very good internet speeds, which makes it bad for other parts of the house. Trying every angle I can

Hi Jim. I am going to call it a day. I am packing this up. I can't access the TP-LINK in anyway, nor the NETGEAR. Although I did get into the NETGEAR webpage and input all the info, sadly it still would not connect to this damn hub. You have the patience of a saint, so thank you so much. I am going to pack away these units for now as my day is done with it. Thank you again
