i have found that EE, whilst providing good mobile broadband service, it thinks by entering the mobile phone number of the mobile router sim, that i will be able to read a message or pass code/key. I do not have an EE phone, just mobile broadband since 2019.

trying to log in is not that simple, in order to fulfil authorisation i
have to give the passcode sent to my device which is a router not a phone.
I am a retired Chartered IT Professional who finds this confusing. It is
like the advice given when the mobile broadband signal fails or has an
outage and tells me to go to their website for help.

BT , EE's parent prides itself on security, so surprised EE doesn't adopt similar attitudes. I follow advice from the NCSC in the UK for advice, I am wrong to do so?

So i had better visit a physical EE shop I suppose
