Is this the mobile Smart 5G Hub with Wifi 7 that you are talking about, or the fixed-line Smart Hub Pro with Wifi 7? I assume the former as you have mentioned inserting a SIM.

This post originated under the Broadband & Landline category, and the advice by @XRaySpeX reflects this. EE's fixed line broadband routers are loaned to customers for the length of their contracts and expected to be returned at the end of their service agreement.

If it is a mobile router you are talking about, then you would be best commenting on a post in that category.

Nobody owns the EE router; you borrow it.

Any you may find on marketplace sites have got there from previous EE BB users who have not returned them to EE as they were contracted to & therefore may potentially be stolen goods.

Do you have EE BB? You won't find them much use on other BB networks.

That edict by Ofcom applies only to mobile phones. It is to be expected that ISP routers would be tied to that ISP. Furthermore EE does not sell routers; it lends them as I keep telling you.

Hi yes it is that Wifi 7 router with 5G SiM support.. HH70

I am just at ee and I have tested it with my laptop and it works flawlessly and thus can be purchased at amazon so I don't really thinks it is any theft or something.. At EE they said I can get it with sim but is expensive £277 + sim £35 and I can cancel Sim straight away and keep the router.. But online is better offer.. cheaper...

Oh I didn't realise this is landline section sorryy ...

As you posted under the fixed Home BB forum, everything I said applied only to the fixed BB routers that EE currently supplies. Also following on from the posts earlier in this thread, before you tacked onto it, discussing what generic routers can replace EE's Smart Hub Pro. As far as I know there is no similar Q or discussion about replacing EE's mobile routers.
