We are still on our phones from overseas and we need these for business abroad. We are trying to activate the sim on our mini unit however when prompted for a phone contact we cannot present one as we are still on our overseas phones. We just want to get online so we can use maps and contact friends here and abroad etc. Is there a solution?

Cheers

What do you mean by a "phone contact"? Is something asking you for a mobile phone number? What is the something that is asking?

Yes part of the 'checking its me' process asks for a phone number to send a code to.

Mobile routers contain a SIM. All SIMs have a mobile no. Visit http://add-on.ee.co.uk/status from a device connected to your mobile router by WiFi to see your data & credit status as well as its mobile no. at the top.

Thanks. I understand that part of it a little it is just that EE can't verify I am who I say I am with out a code they send to a UK phone number. On my overseas phone I have an sim however it cannot receive text messages.

Cheers

EE want to send the text to the mobile router itself to verify it, not to your overseas phones.

Most mobile routers can receive texts. Login to it & look for the SMS Section/Inbox.
