Semantics: Personal 'Unlimited' or Business Unlimited is that Clear?

Hello

The terms of service for personal plans uses the word Unlimited without surrounding it with quotes which is unfortunate within a legal document. Wherever the word Unlimited is used semantics require 'Unlimited' to be used. The reason for the quotes is the limit is finite at 600 gigabytes.

On the other hand, the Business use of Unlimited in the Plan sense, is semantically correct because no limit is imposed on Gigabyte consumption. Having been advised verbally by Business Customers Services that that is the case, I would like to examine the Business Terms of Service document where this is stated along with mention that the limit of connected lines or devices is 50.

Please help by providing a link to Business Unlimited Plan PDF.

Thank you that was helpful.

Personal terms state:

Unlimited Data Plans
50GB fair usage policy applies outside UK. Personal, non-commercial use only. If you regularly tether 12 or more devices, we will consider this non-personal use and have the right to move you to a more suitable plan. We will consider usage above 600GB/month to be non-personal use and have the right to apply traffic management controls to deprioritise your mobile traffic during busy periods or to move you to a business plan. You can gift up to 100GB. Data usage on an unlimited plan will decrement from giftable allowance. Any data boost allowance will be added to the giftable allowance.

Why would these terms require a unilateral movement to a Business Unlimited Plan when both Business and Personal terms have finite limits of 600Gb and with the same traffic managment clauses?

In the Business terms I cannot find anything said about the max number of connected lines or devices please provide a link to Business terms where this is stated.

Beats me! It's not a unilateral move. There is the alternate option of applying TM.

If the max number of connected devices doesn't appear in that linked doc. I doubt if there is 1.

There is an obvious reason for the move over to Business - the residential side of EE is moving their problem sideways onto commercial making it their problem. Same business partitioned by the obstacle of data privacy. Thank you for your personal opinion that only 1 device can be connected however, the actual number needs to be confirmed by evidence within the terms something apparently missing.

Both the residential and commercial terms allude to punative measures such as traffic managment and shifting priorities. Subscribers one feels need to be notified by EE that they have breached the terms of service and offered a chance to mend their ways. Could you provide me with a link to where this policy is declared. Thx.

Thank you for clearing that up but alas no answer to the policy question.

Nobody likes punitive measures being applied but there was a way under metered usage to self regulate to avoid this. Say that one had purchased an addon to a data SIM, 150Gb. Always a concern that streaming would eat this up, EE provided a way to monitor usage using the URL http://add-on.ee.co.uk/status revealing how much data is left.

However, when the subscriber upgrades to Unlimited the web page simply says Unlimited.

Can you explain why each month it does not start at 600Gb counting down as though it was metered, after all both Residential and Commercial terms state quite clearly that 600Gb is the data limit if punitive measures are to be avoided.

Let me make this clear, I don't wish to infer in any way that this was a deliberate and considered act by EE to decieve.

Thank you. I do hope our conversation has not been lost on the community. Having spoken with support staff on the Business side there is a perception that Unlimited means without limit and that a connected device count exists set at 50 this is simply not the case.
