Hi.

I have recently changed my PlusNet FTTC internet for a EE 5G SIM only service.

I have used TP-Link Deco X50 5G adding to my Deco M5 Mesh and getting my full 100Mbps download and about 50Mbps upload in most locations. I signed up for a data rate limited but unlimited download service which is more than adequate for my needs.

One oddity I found was the DNS entries that came from the EE mobile config 109.249.185.133 and 109.249.185.134.

everything seemed to be fine other than Netflix would not play any content on my Samsung smart TVs although it loaded OK. But oddly Playback on Iphone, iPad and Mac worked fine.

After much messing around and reloading of content and rebuilding of my Router and Deco wifi network, I added Google DNS servers into the DHCP config page on the X50 router. Voila. Netflix works and is using Google DNS when checking the APP network stats.

Anyone else having issues with these EE DNS addresses.?

Before you rush and and buy a Deco X50-5G, I have other issues with streaming some services (channel4 and occasionally ITVx) when adverts need to be played. Program usually comes on OK after a blank screen covering the advert playout duration, but this is a bit random.

Ch4 tech team suggest its the router blocking the advert source servers, but so far TP-Link haven't been able to confirm.

all other devices play the services fine with ads as expected, and connect to same wifi network which point it towards Samsung or the Samsung app developers, or a weird combination of both

Very weird. Any input on this conundrum very welcome

Changing the IP mode to IPV4 only in the APN/Profile is my only solution to fix Netflix and some other services, or when getting reallocated a different IP address it sometimes does work. I think they may block large swathes of IPs now in order to stop people getting around the password sharing.
