For 6 years now, on my steel narrowboat, I've used an external aerial - Motorhome WIFI 4G LTE, with a router - Huawei 4G+ Router 3 Pro B535 which supplies laptop, smart tv, alexa, ipad etc. Sometimes, depending on my location, internet is not so good.

Is there any way I can improve my set-up, like the new EE router for instance?

Can you explain what you mean by "internet is not so good"?

If this is varying depending on your location, then varying levels of coverage are to be expected.

Yes, it depends on location. Online tv will stop and reload, so much that I
can't watch it. Most of the time it's fine but happens about once a week. I
move location daily.

What coverage levels does the router display when you have problems using mobile data?

What's the predicted service levels for these locations? The coverage webtool will show you - https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile-coverage-checker

I'm in cheshunt right now for a coupla days. Last nite I had no service at
all, even though my ee phone was good on 5g. I have ee sim card in my
router too.
Today, I disconnected the aerial, got good Internet with just the router,
showing 3 out of 6 bars. The aerial extension cable was 3m, even tho the
router is directly below the aerial, and it was all just lying in the
bottom of my electrical locker, under the router. I'm gonna fit new 1m
extension cable between aerial and router tomorrow.
