EE mobile routers are not really suitable for gaming.

You are finding yourself up against a limitation of EE's mobile network. The EE mobile network uses Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT) resulting in a double NAT, which games consoles often object to, which means you don't get your own public IP address but share it with other users. So you can't be uniquely id'ed on the Net & therefore your LAN cannot be addressed from outside for unsolicited accesses. This is unlike fixed BB.

If this occurs there is nowt you can do to avoid it.

I now have the same problem as well. I got my 5g router around 6 months ago and initially everything was fine with the xbox, but then either EE or xbox themselves changed something within their settings which stopped party chat from working,

Xrayspecs explanation of the probable cause is all fine and good, but EE DOI market their devices as being great for gaming, even going so far as teaming up with console makers to do cross-promotions, so I think its quite ridiculous for us to be facing these issues with them seemingly unable to help.

I'm sure EE could do something to at least alleviate the issues as it has worked better in the past and I have friends who use vodafones mobile network to game on the xbox without these issues,

I do wish someone from EE would make an official comment on this, as the way these issues are being unackowledged & uncommunicated is frankly unacceptable.

Hello Joe,

I posted previously about having the Strict NAT settings through the EE provider. Please see above.

Again, I note the typical answer of "Here, try this troubleshooting link..." in answer to your question. I have spoken with EE and complained on multiple occasions. Trust me when I say, They CANNOT fix the problem.

In the end, I ditched them and have gone to another internet provider. I am now with Starlink and suggest you do the same.

From the very first moment of activating the Starlink and connecting my Xbox, it works amazingly well and I have never had one problem with them, unlike EE. NAT settings are OPEN with Starlink.

Truly, EE are at the top of the list for worst providers. I have made multiple complaints and can provide screen shots of failure to provide service. I would lose connection on a daily basis. They are an absolute joke.

Trust me, go somewhere else for an ISP.

All the best, let me know how you get on!

Gamertag: Satans Mother
