EE72E Dongle. Cannot get internet in EU on dongle

Hi, have new EE72E dongle. EE sim that works for internet in phone but will not work in dongle. Have no spending cap and have data roaming on account. Have tried with 2 different EE sims that work in phone. Will work when in UK no problem. Called EE technical and all looks good. Tearing hair out!!

What happens when you try and connect to the WiFi device?

Is the EE SIM on pat as you go or pay monthly?

We have a mobile wi-fi device - dongle - which we’ve had for years, we pay on a monthly subscription.

Sometimes this connects to a local service provider, sometimes, like now, it doesn’t.

I have spent literally hours on to customer services and have been talked through:

Switching on and off, removing the battery, then SIM but nothing. Technical services took me though the accounts and connectivity settings but still nothing.

I trued my EE phone SIM in the dongle - nothing. I put the dongle SIM in my mobile and connected to internet immediately.

We have now been out and bought a new, local dongle and a MEO SIM as I need internet for work.

Beyond frustrated - this happens about 50% of the time when we come to Portugal, which is approximately six times per year!

If the SIM card is working in another device, this does suggest the router is causing this.
