Tethering hotspot with unlimited data not working anymore

I was using my phone with unlimited data as a hotspot for my pc, as the wifi of the place I stay at is very unreliable, and as far as I understood from other posts I can use the tethering as much as I want with the unlimited data pack.
However as of yesterday I cannot connect my pc to my hotspot anymore, or it automatically disconnect after a few seconds.
Other months I was receiving a "you used 80% of you giftable data" message towards the end of the month, and this month it didn't happen, and I just cannot use it anymore, and my pc won't even find the wifi (hotspot) connection
How can I fix it?

Welcome to the community.

The 80% message relates to gifting data to other numbers on your account, it's unrelated to tethering. I'm not sure why the tethering has stopped working. I sometimes have to turn the hotspot off, then back on again to re-connect my kids' tablets. Could you give that a go please?

What kind of phone are you using?

Hey, you say my data won't be affected by gifting however, I also got that message saying I've used all my gifting data when I've not gifted just hotspotted as my wifi doesn't reach my bedroom so often hotspot at night, I go on my account it says relax you have unlimited data but then also says I have no data yet the hotspot still works and I can still access the Internet etc..it's not very clear at all, am I going to be hit with a huge charge or is hotspotting to my tv ok? Not bothered about gifting my data as I don't need to do this.

@Jessica-rose : It's only talking about data that you may potentially gift from the 1st 100GB of all your data to other nos. on your a/c if you choose to. It's just a warning just in case you wanted to. You may safely ignore it & carry on using data for your own purposes including hotspotting.

As you use data for your own use you are eating into this gifting allowance even when you are not actually gifting it.

Notice that it didn't say "You've gifted data you can gift" just that "You've used data you can gift".
