Casting TNT Sports through a 4G router

EE offer a data SIM with unlimited data and an 'add-on' ie TNT Sports. I wish to put the data SIM into a 4G router and use it as my home Broadband, casting TNT Sports to my TV for football etc. I have been told that TNT Sports is not possible through a router, and is only available through the device (ie a phone) that the SIM card is inserted in.

Is this correct?

Hi there. I have been looking at this also. Online EE state that you can only watch TNT sports on a device with an EE sim inserted. This should mean a phone or cellular tablet. What is confusing me is that with a Data sim who is going to remove the normal sim and replace it with the data sim each time you want to watch TNT. I would have thought that using the data sim on offer inserted into the mini hub should work fine with a smart tv connected wirelessly. Also they state that the offer is worth £20 a month but if you buy a subscription to TNT directly its about the same. Sounds like an advertising scam to me.

The Smart Benefit on these plans include large screen access, so once you've set up your discovery+ ID, you'll be able to download the discovery+ app and log in on one of the devices listed on this Watch TNT sports on the discovery+ app help page.

Thanks. So if I buy a data sim with TNT access and place it in my ee mini I will be able to connect my Smart TV wirelessly and watch TNT sport. I am a little confused because on your website you state the following:

"Good to know:

"TNT Sports through EE will only work on devices with EE SIMs."

Does this include the mini router?

My particular circumstances: EE data SIM with TNT Sports add-on - used through a 4G router to provide home broadband. Are you saying that if I download the Discovery+ app onto my IPad, then I can cast TNT Sports to my TV through the IPad?

Hi there. I got an all rounder data sim with TNT sports included to upgrade the data sim in my mini router. With my smart tv connected to the EE mini hub it all works perfectly. Very pleased.

Further to my last reply. With all working perfectly with my new sim I benefited from a 30% discount because my mobile is also with EE.

Also I wonder if it’s common knowledge that now tv have an offer whereby if you pay for a day pass (£11) to watch a premiere ship game you get 9 months free sports mobile membership to watch the premiere league. Although you can only watch on your mobile I bought a screen magnifier and it’s very watchable. A far cry from listening to a commentary if you can find one. Very very happy.
