Downgrading the SIM only plan

Hi, I have been a customer since 2014 and currently on a rather expensive SIM plan. The contract has long ended and I have been eligible for "upgrade" for a long time now. I spend most of the year outside the UK, and instead of upgrading, I would like to downgrade my plan as low as possible. Looks like it can go somewhere around £5 for 12GB. Is there any way I can make it happen other than calling EE?

You can upgrade to a new SIM only plan online here. (It can be a cheaper plan as you're out of contract)

Hello again! When trying to upgrade to a new SIM card plan online, I see that something is being delivered to my home address for free via Royal Mail. Does this mean I get a new physical SIM card as a result of this upgrade? Thank you

It will either be a paper eSIM or a physical SIM, depending on how the order was processed, @MerlePa
