4G/5G Router now Showing 2.4G/5G

Can anyone tell me why my 4G/5G router is now showing 2.4G/5G.

The router has just come back from repair with EE.

Device name: 5GEE WiFi

Software version: D52e_EE_V01.06 this is the current up to date.

@mike1266 It’s showing the two different types of Wi-Fi connection you can use, one is 2.4Ghz and this has a further reach within your home than the 5Ghz but 5Ghz is the faster of the two.

The problem is it should be and was 4G/ 5G and now shows 2.4G.

The signal strength is so slow it is unworkable.

When it was 4G the signal strength was much faster.

I dont get 5G so I have to use the 4G

You are mixing up WiFi speeds with mobile network technology. The former relates to connections of your devices within the home, while the latter relates to the connection of the router with the over-the-air EE mobile network. There is no correlation between them.

Your mobile router can connect to the mobile network over either 4G or 5G technology. However your devices within your home will connect to the router over either the 2.4 GHz (GigaHertz) or 5 GHz WiFi bands.

It is entirely possible in some areas that the 4G mobile signal is faster/stronger than on 5G.

Have you Checked Status of the Network Status Checker there and reported your problem via that link?
