Thanks, that's what I needed to know. I use the second link when I'm connected via the router (sitting next to me right now) and that works fine; the problem will come when the router (which will be on all the time for remote monitoring) is on the boat 150 miles away and I'm at home...

Another thing you might be able to help with -- when I use My EE and enter the SIM phone number My EE tells me I've got a 4GEE mobile broadband device -- but it's actually an NR5103E 5G router, shouldn't this come up as 5GEE?

This may be related to the fact that I can only get a 4G+ connection using the Scancom EE SIM, even though the coverage map says I should be able to get 5G indoors here -- tried both router and A52 5G phone with the same result, even drove the phone over to the basestation. I suspect the problem is the Scancom SIM, but they insist that they're 5G capable and enabled...

I'm trying to create a My EE account so I can check data usage, I'm using a Scancom EE SIM in an NR5103E router (same as EE 5G router). When I enter the phone number it recognises this as a "4GEE Mobile Broadband" number, but I can't get beyond this to link this to my My EE account. Any ideas?

You may continue using your device but you just can't register it to MyEE.

Use Fast Top Up online with a UK bank card. You don't need to login or register anything. All you need is your mobile no.

Go to http://add-on.ee.co.uk/status from the device will tell you your usage & credit.

Go to http://add-on.ee.co.uk/purchase from the device to buy add-ons.

3G, 4G, 5G, they're all mobile routers.

There is no remote monitoring of EE routers.

Very helpful again. Any ideas about how I can resolve the 4G/5G issue? Coverage maps all say I should get 5G indoors, don't even get it outdoors or next to the basestation. Any way to confirm that it's transmitting 5G? (cellmapper doesn't help, none of the SIMs I can get my hands on are 5G-enabled on EE)

The coverage map is a computer simulation as no one has actually tested every location for the coverage map to be spot on.

Are you certain the network site in question has 5G tech fitted? Not all sites do - all EE sites are multi-technology and the only tech that's near universal is 4G800 &/or 2G/4G1800.

Do you know anyone else locally who has a 5G phone/SIM combination, and do they get 5G service in this area?
