Can I order another sim to put into mobile hotspot hub?

So I've already got a contract for an iphone 12 + unlimited data so I was wondering if I could order another sim to put in a mobile hotspot wifi hub and if that would work,

having my phone and hotspot hub active at the same time on the same sim

Yes, you can buy another SIM with a new no. to put in your mobile router, but you can't have 2 SIMs on the same no. You order the new SIM as an additional line to get 10 % off it.

Thanks for the quick response!

Okay so would it then be fine for me to put my current sim from my phone into the router, sure I won't be able to receive calls or texts but there are certain times at the moment where I desire better speed / connection.

You may put your phone SIM into any device. You probably can receive & reply to texts on the mobile router but may not be able to send texts directly.
