Most of the USB Dongles you could buy were in fact 2/3G, some later ones were 4G / LTE but mostly were a very low 4G Spec.

So be careful what you buy, also seeing that all the UK Networks are currently switching off 3G this year and 2G is next to useless for Data throughput.

If your need is to specifly use a direct USB connection over a WiFi Mobile Device, if worth pointing out that a lot of decent type Mobile WiFi Devices will actually let you have a Direct USB Cable Data Connection (Simular to Ethernet Cabled Speeds) to your Laptop or PC, as will quiet a few Mobile Phones if you can configure them for a USB Data Cable connection, but you are relient on Windows setting up the correct USB Drivers Installation.

EE no longer do them but there might be a few on Amazon. The current technology are mobile WiFi routers.

The ones you want to avoid are the 4/5GEE Home Routers which are mains powered & hence no USB.
