BEWARE OF EE - I signed with an 18 month contract with 3 months left to go, looking to redeem noticed I pay £60! A month for broadband!!!! the same contract is now £20 a month with 3 months free, spoke with EE for 2 hours on live chat where I was told I had to pay £160 exit fee to then start a new contract which they though was a " deal", then i stated i would like to cancel when due in June, l in which they said I need to wait 30 days before the contract ends as they would not put a note in now,

As you can imagine I have paid £900 so far for a contract people are paying £300!!!!!! for an 18 month contract..

Please be aware of this when getting a contract with them as their customer service in India is appalling I would rate them zero if I could absolutely shocking.

Welcome to the community,

All customer service is in the UK, none in India, and it is up to you to keep an eye on what you sign up for, including costs.

Just to let you know, mobile broadband is more expensive than fixed broadband, or are you talking about fixed broadband?

It will also depend on the speed of your broadband, there are more expensive ones and cheaper ones, depending on speed, for fixed broadband.

Its mobile broadband at a pretty lousy speed I just put up with it as I signed the contract, there is enough complaints on here in regards to contracts from EE, price rises etc. I can get fixed Broadband ( Which I will be next) for £40 a month.

What I don't like is the fact they are advertising what I have for £20 a month now, as a kind or good will gesture i believe they should allow me to either end my contract or simply move onto the £20 offer contract for 2 years and they do neither, this might be good customer service to you for a company but it is not for me, my contract started at £40 and ended up at £60 i put up with the price increases because as you say its up to me to keep an eye on my contract.

On top of that I don't want to remind myself 30 days before my contract ends to cancel in the event I forget and they take another £60 for a contract that's only worth £20 now

It was £40 then it went to £44 £48 £52 and now £60.11. All in the space if 15 months its audacious.

@Toxic1234uk So your saying because EE have a now offer you should be entitled to that offer. That’s not how offers work.

I’ll put it like this, You purchase an item from a shop let’s say a pair of shoes then two months later they are reduced in price for a sale do you think you should get some money back because they are now on sale ? That’s exactly the same principle as this. But with this you’re in a contract for a set period of time that you agreed you’ll pay for that set period of time.

Oh yeah, that's normal unfortunately, will have been increasing by CPI + 3.9% each year

I also don't believe in advertising the same bundle to new customers at a reduced price, while not giving out of contract customers said new price, but unfortunately, everyone does the same

It wouldn't matter, this is a service not a product everyone gets a router we all have different speeds based on areas otherwise we would all have different prices there is one set price, its not in a "sale" its offering a product I bought for two thirds more.

"Shoe analogy"

Shoes get discounted for various reasons , new year, new stock, rebrand etc.? what reason are they discounted for its a different argument.

I will give you an better analogy someone who pays 60k for a brand new land rover from the brand land rover saw the same make mileage and year selling for 20k you would be pretty narked off this is 66% difference !!! the contract now is £20! that is 66.6%

All of us have accepted the price inflations i started paying £40 then it went to £44 £48 £52 and now £60.11. All in the space of 15 months , and people can now get it for £20! No way acceptable not for any of us who are on the contract

I'm afraid that with EE you need to tender your 30-days notice at most 35 days before you want to cancel.

Which mobile router have you with how much data? I'd be very surprised whether what was £40 pm 15 months ago is now being offered for £20 pm like-for-like. E.g. An unlimited data plan would cost £55 pm while a 5GB plan would only cost £21 pm. I suspect you are comparing current "From" prices with your more expensive, way above the min. data, plan costs.

Thank you kirigaya thats all i was saying it seems like i expect free things its not true , all us customers have seen huge increases in our contracts and still carried on with EE and then they do this, AND its £20 a month with 3 months free!!!!!

I can't see how you could've had 5 increases in 15 months unless you upsized your data over that period. There can have been no more than 2 CPI+ annual increases over that period.

The thing is, if you had rung EE as you were coming close to the minimum term, you could have had a lower price deal, possibly.
