Welcome back to the EE Community. 🙂

I'd recommend waiting to see the results from the new antenna installation before investing in new equipment.

They can make a real difference in some locations.

Please let us know how it goes.

Issues:

Buffering watching Netflix/using internet

Childs tablet can’t stay connected for more than a few seconds

Ring doorbell and cameras cut in/out

Cannot connect other items eg. Sonos speakers to WiFi network.

Once disconnected router needs to be restarted for WiFi to work again.

EE have suggested an antenna that is being fitted tomorrow. I have little hope this will provide us with the stable internet we are going for. Given how disastrous the new router is connecting currently.

We originally had the mini WiFi box which had the same issues. Replaced with a tenda router that worked for a while then stopped transmitting. Reading around routers (net gear orbi tri band/ net gear nighthawk- expensive £400 bits of kit) these routers often create an APN rendering the router unable to work. (As signal is fine in original but poor quality EE router) which appears to be what happened to mine.

Anyone found a router that continues to work, as the one supplied by EE looks very dodgy at best?

Also, we’d like to be able to set up a MESH network and it looks like the EE router isn’t compatible with that either. As it can’t be set into a bridge mode. So you need a different router anyway. Anyone found any reliable systems?

We just want stable internet to do normal household usage. A bit of Peppa pig for the toddler, a bit of Netflix for mummy and a video call with grandparents. I’d love a better system that I can future proof and extend coverage throughout the home, but right now I just want a usable system.

Edit, this is our only internet and we pay monthly for unlimited data (£50/m). EE have confirmed we are well below any fair usage data caps.

we have been given the home router 3 with the antenna option as we don’t need mobile broadband, we just want this to be our home broadband.

once it’s stopped I have to reset the router. 3 x this last hour trying to watch some cartoons with the kids. Which is an awfully poor service.

Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks 🙂
