HI

I have an Tp Link Archer Mr600 Router and an Poynting XPOL-1 V2 5G 3dBi Omni-Directional Cross Polarised LTE 2x2 MIMO Outdoor Antenna.

I'm having trouble, I don't really understand what I am doing and seem to be wasting money and not improving things.

When I attache the antenna I seem to get worse speeds, specifically download speeds, upload actually improves as with the router antenna it starts around 21mbps download 3.7mbps upload and switches to 9.9mbps download and 23mbps upload with the external antenna. I have taken the mast up a ladder to where I got the most signal on my phone (3bars) and it still made little difference. I am trying to wrap my head around the advanced info but don't really get what I am trying to achieve.

It seems I might be better off just running the router on its own Antenna. I think we are only really getting signal from one mast, we are quite rural, would I be better binning the antenna and getting something else?

Hi @3dwilliams,

Have you looked into a professional installation service that could help you get set up?

EE offer an installation service, but only when purchasing your equipment direct from EE.
