EE 4G broadband - a few questions

I would really appreciate some advice about EE’s 4G Brodband service. I’m stick on a copper ADSL connection which is pretty slow. Cant go to fibre as I have an Exchange Only line with Openreach aren’t going to spend money fixing. I have an EE phone and have been entirely satisfied with the service – and with customer service too actually. So…

1) how good – and especially stable – is EE 4G broadband? I must be near a mast because my mobile connects at really fast speeds compared to ADSL. But stability when streaming is really critical….what have peoples experiences been?

2) any recommendations for hardware? I have a Linksys WRT3200ACM router, running OpenWrt, so I have no interest in ISP provided hardware. I just need an equivalent of the standalone modem I use for ADSL. I have seen references to the Netgear LB2120 which looks ideal, but some people have said it doesn’t work with EE’s signal? Is this so? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

3) How does Carrier Grade NAT affect me? I don’t have the obvious blocking use cases (multiplayer gaming or the need to contact my network from outside) but I do have DNS servers defined on my router, outward queries running on DNS over HTTPS, and adblocking too. Would I have to lose this? As with hardware, I have a dislike to using ISP DNS servers….I dont use a VPN, but would I be affected if I did? Any other gotchas to be aware of?Any help really appreciated

Thanks James, but its not a sales droid I need but rather someone with a network understanding, especially WRT CGNAT....

3. CGNET only inhibits unsolicited incoming requests. The remote responses to DNS requests are solicited & so not affected.
