Mobile Broadband Router while Roaming

I am going to be on a cruise ship around the Canary Islands and will be visiting Tenerife, La Palma, Madeira, and Fuerteventura. I assume my router will automatically connect to the local 4G/5G when inn reach. How do I stop it connecting to Telenor or any other premium 'internet at sea' service ?

Make sure all your Roaming is set up and working on the Sim Plan before you leave the UK.

Most of the On Board / Cruise Ship Internet Services are Broadcasted on their own WiFi Based Service so your Router wont pick these up, but your see these Services on your Phone as you would any other Roaming WiFi Hotspot(s).

Should the Ship offer its own 2G, 3G, 4G Service then your need to treat these as Premium Payment Roaming Charges.

Equally if any on-board WiFi is available, that is duplicating what your mobile router is doing so there would be no need to use it.

The mobile router "breathes in" mobile data, and "breathes out" a WiFi-hotspot. If you have another source of WiFi-service that you're happy to use, then your mobile router is surplus.

Yes, I get that but the ship's wifi is chargeable and not widely
available. I might get an EE Myfi so my wife can share my connection. I've
got 50GB fair use on my EE Euro roaming account.

@jeffclark2659 You can only use up to 50Gb when roaming per month, if your tariff has less than that per month you don’t get 50Gb because your roaming you only get your tariff allowance.

I've got a 200GB allowance and 50GB (fair use) when roaming in the EU.
