Hi EE Community, I would like to upgrade the data allowance on my existing EE mobile broadband account (which I have held since 2017). When I select the "Upgrade" options within "My EE" from the web portal I am only offered new devices and a data plan. As I already have an EE Mobile Router (2017 4G model) I do not need to upgrade the actual device. Is it possible to upgrade the "data allowance" capacity to a higher capacity? (ideally without having to change the SIM) I see "Data SIMS upgrades" listed under the "My Shop" which appear to suggest I could order these to obtain higher capacities with a new contract term. However, it is not entirely clear to me whether selecting one of these options would actually upgrade my existing contract. Equally, I do not want to order to find this option is not appropriate, having my existing contract cancelled and then end up having to start an entirely new plan with a new device at a much higher monthly price. Please confirm whether it is possible to upgrade the capacity to an existing EE Mobile Broadband account and which is most appropriate method for doing so. As an improvement to "EE IT team" it would be ideal if the EE portal was intelligent enough to provide options for upgrading to:- a) a new device (in the situations where you want to move to 5G from 4G) b) a different capacity (essentially an administrative task to update the account with no shipping required). Many thanks for your assistance DJ

Hi @davidjsmith67,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

If you select a data SIM upgrade, that will upgrade your existing SIM to the new plan with a new contract term.

If you'd just like to change your plan without starting a new contract term, please get in touch with Customer Care.

Hope this helps.

James

Hi James,

Many thanks for the quick reply, most appreciated.

I selected a data SIM upgrade with a new contract term, which has been already been deployed. Nice and easy!

Best regards,

DJ
