What is the problem with the 4GEE Mini WiFi? What were they saying is company policy? We'll do our best to help.

Bought this device in April this year 2022 it has now stopped working. Took it back to the same EE shop we bought it from to be told it is out of the 30 day warranty! They can send it off to be repaired, which takes 10-14 days but can not offer anything in its place and no guarantee it can be fixed. The only alternative is to buy another one and then cancel the Simm card in 30 days. The senior customer service person kept repeating its company policy and there is nothing that they could do. Was told to ring the service line, however they said it is the shop I need to go back too! Has anyone else had this kind of problem and if so how was it resolved. The senior customer service person was just like a broken record repeating "its' company policy" I did ask to see their company policy but was told only employees can read it. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you resolve it? Thank you for reading.
