5g upgrade (downgrade)

Hi the town I work in recently has been upgraded to 5 G great news you would think. But speeds are now slower than when it had 4g coverage. I am pretty close to the mast I get full bars for signal and speed test gives download speeds typically around 20mps and same for upload. On 4g it was more like 50 for download

And if I go to a city with 5g download speeds are usually in the 100s or above. Why the difference

What does our coverage checker estimate the 5G coverage like in your postcode?

How recently was it upgraded?

So the coverage checker for this postcode says I will get great 4g coverage dosent say 5g is available but it is and Is over most of the town. I would guess its been 5g for 5 or 6 weeks now. A welcome upgrade thanks but curious as to why speeds are less than before as that seems backwards step

You could be just on the edge of coverage, @kcurrie65.

It's likely to improve as time goes by and will be updated on the coverage checker as it does.
