See the screenshots below. Perhaps their is some custom profile that I could use that might fix my issues?

The one on the left is the pay-as-you-go and the one on the right is the monthly SIM.

I have been using mobile broadband for some time and recently decided to swap to EE since it provided better performance.

Initially, to check the signal, I decided to use an EE pay-as-you-go SIM using a data pack. This worked splendidly and everything was working fine.

Since this was working, I then decided to get a SIM only EE plan. This is a SIM with an unlimited data plan. After using this SIM, half my applications and devices refuse to work and I don't really know why. Some devices and applications that refuse to work are: Netflix, Steam, Amazon Echo, HP Laptop and so on...

I then swapped back to my EE pay-as-you-go SIM and everything seems to works fine.

So, I guess my question is why is this happening? Is there some sort of SIM card setting that needs to be changed? It can't be the actual card itself, since it is able to access the internet.

Router: Huawei B628-265

SIM #1: pay-as-you-go SIM + data pack
SIM #2: 12 Months SIM only + Unlimited Data

What is the APN Protocol setting or whatever parameter to do with IPv's? Are they the same or diff?

I managed to fix the issue. @XRaySpeX - Thanks for nudging me in the right direction.

To fix the issue, I made a custom profile that forced IPv4. It was previously trying to use IPv4 & IPv6 which I guess was failing for some devices.

Another solution that helped was the following

https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Mobile-Broadband/4G-Broadband-not-connecting-to-Netflix-and-other-services-from/m-p/1090763/highlight/true#M18900

In which they essentially had the same issue but with a Three and an EE SIM, instead of two EE SIMs

Oh, I thought the APN had no IPv settings or at least you didn't show any. If it had that was what I was gonna tell you.

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance & it is now sorted.
