New home no signal, help required please

Im asking this on behalf of my mate who has just recently moved from a town to a village location. Since he has moved he has no orange/ee signal whatsoever, he has been to many shops enquiring about signal boosters etc but they all tell him he has to have some sort of signal to boost (ie one bar), he has no signal anywhere in his house.

Is there anything on the market available to buy?

Any help greatfully received.

Thankyou.

EE should be able sell your friend a signal box (and no, they don't require any proper mobile service to work, you wont actually get one unless you have zero outdoor signal from an EE mast anyway).

They work by plugging into your broadband router (you need at least 1Mb download speeds though).  They create a mini 3G cell around the signal box and the calls/texts/mobile data are sent/received to the EE network via the broadband connection.

They can only be purchased by calling EE directly, but even then, it's often a struggle as EE are not keen on selling signal boxes.
